About Stanley Bedrock No. 607 bench planes
Bedrock was Stanley's premium line of bench planes, made in the United States from the 1890s until the early 1940s. The distinguishing feature is the frog, which seats on a fully machined bed for solid contact, with later flat-sided models letting the frog be shifted without removing the iron; the 602 through 608 numbers in this group span the smoothers to the big jointer. Value follows size and scarcity, with the small 602 and the long 608 above the common 604, and rises with original irons and cutter length, intact rosewood totes and knobs, surviving handle decals, crisp japanning, and no cracks or repairs to the casting.
The 28 sales behind these figures come from Jim Bode Value Guide (24), Jim Bode Tools (2), Michael Rouillard Antique Tools (1) and 1 other source, and run from 2020 to 2026; 4 closed in the last twelve months.
