About Great Neck
Great Neck Saw Manufacturers is an American toolmaker based on Long Island, New York, supplying inexpensive hand tools through hardware stores and home centers from the mid-20th century onward. Among the tool types recorded here, block planes are the relevant line, made as budget utility planes rather than precision pattern-shop tools. Value rests on completeness and condition: an intact cutter with life left in it, an undamaged lever cap and adjuster, a flat sole free of casting cracks, and clean japanning. An original box or intact paper label adds to a plane that would otherwise be judged as a user.
