About Hults Bruk

Hults Bruk is a Swedish axe forge based at Åby, and its heads have been sold worldwide for well over a century; the Arvika name is another Swedish axe brand made under the same ownership. The recorded sales are all axes and hatchets, which is the full extent of what the works has been known for. Value tracks pattern and size, with distinct forms such as the Hudson Bay or Montreal pattern and heavier notching heads standing apart from common hatchets. Clear maker's stamps, the Arvika five-star mark, an original handle rather than a replacement, and an accompanying leather sheath all add; pitting, mushroomed polls, and heavy regrinding subtract.
