About Greenlee chisels
Greenlee was an American toolmaker based in Rockford, Illinois, producing edge tools from the late 19th century into the 20th before shifting toward electrical and utility trades. Among the tools recorded here, the company is best known for heavy socket chisels, framing chisels and slicks for timber work, along with drawknives and expansive bits. Large sizes such as the 3 inch slick and 2 inch framing chisel carry more weight than small firmer chisels, and unused new old stock examples with original boxes sit above used ones. Value drops with pitting, shortened blades, replaced handles, or mushroomed socket rims; drawknives should have both original handles and full blade length.
The 14 sales behind these figures come from Jim Bode Value Guide (11), Ted Dawson Antique Tools (2) and Jim Bode Tools (1), and run from 2022 to 2026; 1 closed in the last twelve months. 4 listings for sets, pairs or lots of Greenlee chisels were left out, because a set's price is not one tool's price.
