About Moulson chisels
Moulson Brothers were Sheffield edge tool makers working through the nineteenth century, marking both edge tools and saws. Their reputation rests on chisels and gouges, and the group here reflects that: heavy tanged pig sticker mortise chisels, bevel edge chisels, and long paring gouges, alongside brass back carcass saws. Value follows the iron itself, so look for full length blades with plenty of life above the shoulder and no shortening from regrinding. Original boxwood handles, intact ferrules, a crisp stamp, and matched sets of bevel edge chisels all add; pitting, mushroomed tangs, and replaced handles subtract.
The 14 sales behind these figures come from Jim Bode Value Guide (12) and Jim Bode Tools (2), and run from 2020 to 2026; 3 closed in the last twelve months. 2 listings for sets, pairs or lots of Moulson chisels were left out, because a set's price is not one tool's price.
