| Where | Median sold | Median asking |
|---|---|---|
| Dealers | $313 | $351 |
| Marketplaces | $351 | $42111 |
These are different markets, not a contradiction. Dealers list restored, checked tools and price accordingly; marketplaces carry everything from collector-grade down to parts. Compare within a row, not across the table.

Asking prices run higher than sold prices. Sellers post hopefully, and unsold listings linger; treat the sold figures above as the real signal.
About Narex chisels
Narex is a Czech edge tool manufacturer still in production, with chisels forming the bulk of its output. Bench, mortise, and long paring chisels in chrome-manganese steel with beech or stained hornbeam handles are the core line, as the 1/4 inch paring chisel and 1 1/2 inch bench chisel here show. Value tracks condition of the blade and handle above all: full unsharpened length, no pitting, and an unsplit hoop or ferrule. Boxed, unused examples and complete matched sets bring more than singles, while heavily reground or shortened blades bring less.
The 4 sales behind these figures come from Jim Bode Value Guide (2), Facebook Marketplace (1) and Hyperkitten (1), and run from 2021 to 2026; 2 closed in the last twelve months. 4 listings for sets, pairs or lots of Narex chisels were left out, because a set's price is not one tool's price.
