About Yankee No. 2100 braces
Yankee was the trade name of the North Bros. Manufacturing Co. of Philadelphia, a maker of boring and driving tools that Stanley bought in the mid-1940s and continued under the same name. The line is best known for spiral ratchet screwdrivers and push drills, but the braces and eggbeater hand drills carry the same reputation, as the No. 2100 and 2101 heavy-duty braces and the No. 1530A and 1440 hand drills show. Pre-Stanley North Bros. examples, uncommon sizes such as the 14 inch brace, and unused stock with original packaging or wooden bit containers stand above the rest; worn jaws, sloppy ratchets, pitting, and missing bits or chuck parts pull value down.
The 23 sales behind these figures come from Jim Bode Value Guide (17), Jim Bode Tools (4) and Ted Dawson Antique Tools (2), and run from 2021 to 2026; 10 closed in the last twelve months.
