About Powermatic

Powermatic is an American machinery builder long associated with McMinnville, Tennessee, and its gold-painted stationary tools are a staple of small shops and school shops. The range recorded here, table saws, band saws, jointers, drill presses, planers, lathes, shapers and mortisers, matches what the company is known for: heavy cast-iron machines built for continuous use. Older American-built models such as the 1150 drill press and the 14-inch band saws hold value when the castings are unbroken, the original motor runs on available power, and fences, tables, guards and guides are present. Rust pitting on tables, missing trunnions or guide parts, and swapped motors pull an example down.
