Powermatic is an American machinery builder long associated with McMinnville, Tennessee, and its gold-painted stationary tools are a staple of small shops and school shops. The range recorded here, table saws, band saws, jointers, drill presses, planers, lathes, shapers and mortisers, matches what the company is known for: heavy cast-iron machines built for continuous use. Older American-built models such as the 1150 drill press and the 14-inch band saws hold value when the castings are unbroken, the original motor runs on available power, and fences, tables, guards and guides are present.
