About North Brothers drill bits

North Bros. Manufacturing Co. of Philadelphia made the Yankee line of hand tools before Stanley bought the company in the mid-1940s, after which Yankee tools carried Stanley's name. The Yankee spiral screwdrivers and push drills are the best-known products, but the braces and ratcheting drills here show the same range, including the No. 2101 heavy-duty bit brace, the No. 75 ratcheting drill and the No. 1005 bench-mount automatic drill press. Pre-Stanley marking, larger brace sweeps, clean jaws and unworn spiral shafts lift value, as does an original box with a full set of bits; missing bits, pitting and slipping ratchets pull it down.
