About Pfeil gouges
Pfeil is a Swiss maker of carving tools, still in production and marked Swiss Made on the blade. Carving gouges make up most of what turns up, alongside V-parting tools, bench chisels, scorps and long shoulder knives, all following the standard sweep-and-width numbering system that identifies each shape. Wide sweeps and large widths such as the 60mm No. 2 and the 1 3/8 inch gouges bring more than common small sizes, as do less ordinary forms like the round scorp and the No. 22 sweep V tool. Unsharpened or lightly used edges with full blade length, clean handles and original labels rate above tools ground short or reshaped.
