About Barry Weaver levels
Barry Weaver is a contemporary American maker working in the tradition of the 19th-century Stratton Brothers pattern level. The recorded work is entirely levels: bound wooden bodies with metal top plates and edge binding, built as small-format and miniature versions of the classic Stratton form. Value follows the materials and the metal used, with rosewood, boxwood, and figured stock such as amboyna burl at one end and German silver binding above plain brass. Intact glass vials, crisp inlay and screw work, and double-plumb configurations all matter, as does an undamaged, unshrunk wooden body.
The 11 sales behind these figures come from Jim Bode Value Guide (11), and run from 2020 to 2024.
