| Marketplaces | — | $77.5018 |
These are different markets, not a contradiction. Dealers list restored, checked tools and price accordingly; marketplaces carry everything from collector-grade down to parts. Compare within a row, not across the table.

Asking prices run higher than sold prices. Sellers post hopefully, and unsold listings linger; treat the sold figures above as the real signal.
About Starrett levels
The L.S. Starrett Company is an American precision tool maker based in Athol, Massachusetts, and has been producing measuring tools since the late 19th century. Its reputation rests on squares, calipers, rules and levels made to machinist tolerances, and the sample follows that pattern with combination and bevel squares, dividers, depth micrometer sets and machined rule clamps. Complete sets matter: a No. 445 depth micrometer with all its rods, or a combination square with the full head complement, beats an orphaned blade. Original boxes, crisp graduations, clean nickel or black wrinkle finish and legible trademark stamps all lift an example, while pitting, worn markings and missing accessories pull it down.
The 35 sales behind these figures come from Jim Bode Value Guide (27), Ted Dawson Antique Tools (5), Hyperkitten (2) and 1 other source, and run from 2020 to 2026; 7 closed in the last twelve months.
