About Sager Chemical axes

Sager Chemical Process axes were made in the United States by Warren Axe & Tool Company of Warren, Pennsylvania, the name referring to the steel treatment used on the bits. The recorded work here is felling and chopping axe heads, of which the Jersey pattern is a common American form. Weight stamps, a clear Sager stamp, and surviving original paint all matter, as does an unground bit with plenty of steel left above the eye; mushroomed polls, deep pitting, and heavy regrinding pull an example down.

The 1 sale behind these figures comes from Ted Dawson Antique Tools (1), all in 2025.
